Heresies of Westcott & Hort

Description

Dr. Waite documents the theological heresies of B. F. Westcott and F. J. A. Hort — the two 19th-century scholars whose critical Greek New Testament became the basis for virtually all modern Bible versions. Despite being widely regarded as orthodox scholars, Waite demonstrates from their own writings and letters that both men held seriously aberrant views on the atonement, the resurrection, the virgin birth, and biblical inspiration. This is essential background for understanding why the Greek text they constructed should not be trusted as the basis for Bible translation.
