10 Alarming Sermons

Description

A collection of ten sermons by Dr. E. A. Johnston designed to alarm, awaken, and arouse both believers and unbelievers to the urgency of the hour and the claims of Christ. Johnston stands in the tradition of the great revival preachers — Whitefield, Nettleton, Finney — who understood that the preacher’s task includes awakening comfortable sinners and slumbering saints to the realities of eternity. These sermons are models of the kind of alarming, God-centered preaching that has historically preceded genuine spiritual awakening.
